Colombian-born Gilberto Aristizabal Serna, 40, and German-born Holger Sander, 35, faced Brisbane Magistrates Court
Sky News: Two men remanded over cocaine bust: "Two foreign-born men accused of being involved in importing almost half a tonne of cocaine worth about $160 million into Australia have been remanded in custody.
Colombian-born Gilberto Aristizabal Serna, 40, and German-born Holger Sander, 35, faced Brisbane Magistrates Court on Saturday morning (AEST) on charges that on or about October 12 they aided and abetted the importation of cocaine.
Australian Federal Police (AFP) and Customs officers on Thursday confiscated 464 kilograms of cocaine from a yacht docked at Scarborough Marina at Redcliffe, north of Brisbane.
Twelve properties in NSW and Queensland were searched, allegedly uncovering a clandestine drug lab in Eden, near the Victorian border.
'It's the third-largest haul in Australia's history,' AFP Deputy Commissioner Andrew Colvin told reporters in Brisbane on Thursday.
'That's 500,000 drug hits.
'The cocaine could have potentially earned more than $160 million on Australian streets.'"
