A year-long crackdown on drugs and violence in Alton has resulted in 83 arrests.
Alton Police Chief David Hayes and other leaders announced the results of Operation "Crack" Down during a press conference on Monday morning.
For a year, undercover officers helped in the covert operation to stop street level drug dealing.
Chief Hayes said they had arrested 15 of the 30 remaining defendants on Monday morning.
Many of the defendants face delivery of controlled substance charges.
